Syiok Young Writers Creativity Workshop
In this workshop for young writers, we will be looking at impact through innovation. We will be using the Cut-Up Technique that writer, William Burroughs, used to inspire innovation in his work. It was also used by illustrious songwriters such as David Bowie to help inspire impactful song lyrics.
We will re-cap on some best practices from last year’s most wonderful creative writing entries with a review of the adjudicator’s feedback and embark on a warm game before we get to the business of writing.
Get ready to play with words and sentences that will make your readers “syiok” at the creativity!
You will need to bring a pen or pencil, writing paper, a small pair of scissors and your brain, ready to put your creative thinking caps on and get cracking.
Participants will be expected to share their work at the end of the workshop, so please ensure that your device is in a quiet place with microphone ready to turn on when it’s your turn to shine.
