About the Key Speakers
MARY ANN TEAR
Mary Ann is a Performing Arts practitioner based in Singapore where she directs, choreographs, and lectures. She is a consultant for MS Works Pte Ltd where she runs Training Workshops and seminars for Teachers. She advises on training programmes for various companies including Julia Gabriel, Stagecraft, Mindstretcher, and other companies in Singapore and Malaysia. She is an examiner for Trinity College London, and a British Federation Adjudicator. Her work has taken her to Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, Canada, Sri Lanka, Dubai, Bermuda, as well as centres in Europe and the UK.
Mary Ann was a UK lecturer in Performing Arts working for the Universities of Hertfordshire and Middlesex, whilst also pursuing her professional theatrical career with performance, choreography, and direction in drama, musical theatre, pantomime and physical theatre. (Full Biog)
MICHELE CHEW
Michele Chew has many years of music teaching experience, especially of young children in group lessons. A graduate of London College of Music, UK, on Teaching, Michele has always had a keen interest in early childhood learning. Michele endeavours to enliven lessons with DIY teaching aids, which impart music concepts through fun and play; even at the very start of learning music, laying a strong foundation to support future music study.
An experienced Trainer for Music for Little Mozarts (MfLM), Michele has coached and inspired many teachers in group teaching. She finds MfLM a very comprehensive course, laying a good foundation for young children embarking on music learning. Michele has had the opportunity to have training and interactions with Christine Barden, the creator of MfLM when Ms Barden was in Singapore. Michele has trained many young Teachers in individual and group teaching, at a major chain of music schools in Singapore for 8 years.
Michele loves baking and in her spare time, tends to her small garden.
