Multiple Gold Prize winner of several Violin Competitions in Australia and New Zealand, James Dong Jun Di is a very out-standing musician of the highest calibre at only age eighteen. His major achievements include being a finalist in the Preston Youth Concerto Competition, Queensland National Youth Competition, Kendall National Violin Competition, the Sydney Conservatorium String Concerto Competition and recently, James was awarded 2nd prize in New Zealand at the Gisborne International Music Competition. His interpretation, style and technique are most inspiring. A musician to watch.
Singaporean Cellist, Loh Hsiao Shan, was awarded "Most Outstanding Performer" (Chamber Music) at SOTA and "Most Outstanding Player"(String section) by Singapore National Youth Orchestra. She will be performing the Schubert Piano Trio in B-f1at major together with violinist James Dong Jun Di and Singaporean pianist John Lee. She will be performing on a A. Siebenhuner 1906 on generous loan from the Rin Collection.
Singaporean young pianist, John Lee is a student of Mr. Benjamin Loh. He was selected to perform in the ABRSM High Scorers' concerts thrice for grade 5,7 and 8. Having obtained his ATCL (Recital Performance) Diploma with distinction at the age of twelve and in 2010 John obtained his LTCL (Recital) Diploma with distinction. John was a finalist at the 2009 International Chopin Piano Competition in Asia held in Tokyo, Japan and in the Open Category of the 2011 Mozart International Piano Competition held in Bangkok, Thailand. He won Third prize in the Open Category of the 2009 Young Pianist Competition held in Singapore.
Malaysian pianist / violinist Jonathan Long Thien Xiang, student of Lai Mei Kuen obtained his ABRSM Grade 8 with distinction and within a year, he obtained his ATCL (Performance) in 2010. Jonathan has also participated and won awards in Malaysian Youth Orchestra Foundation's Music Festivals for two consecutive years 2008 and 2009.
Lim Jia Ying, twelve years old has learnt the violin since age nine. She obtained her ATCL (Performance) with distinction in June 2011 and have recently completed her LTCL(Performance) in December 2011 . She is also a pianist having scored distinction for her ABRSM Grade 8.
Young Malaysian violinist Antony Goon Kin Seng is highly gifted. In October 2011 Antony won first place at the Japan Asean Young Musicians Competition held in Kuala Lumpur. As a result, he was invited to Tokyo, Japan to perform and while he was there, he received master classes from Japanese musician Tetsuya Hayashi . Antony also attended the Kuala Lumpur International Master Classes and was tutored by Raphael Olegand Rodrigo Bauza. Antony was awarded the "Most Promising Musician" for Strings.
Singapore Pianist Extraordinaire, Low Shao Ying was trained in France at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris. While in France, she was awarded 1st prize at the Claude Khan Competition for Piano Duet and 2nd prize at the International Competition of U.FAM.A. in Paris. Shao Ying has performed as soloist with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Maestros Choo Huey, Lim Yau, Lu Jia, and Darrell Ang. She was also a soloist with the Singapore Festival orchestra under maestro Virginia Martinez, Hunan Symphony Orchestra (China) under Maestro Xioa Ming as well as with the European Baroque Chamber Ensemble in Porto. Portugal.
