Contemporary classical music is a way to express contemporary thoughts and communicate to future generations. This festival aims to provide composers in the Asia-Pacific region (Click for full list of countries) a chance to showcase their works, increase their visibility and expand the classical music repertoire. The public will be exposed to diverse works with unique voices and be able to personally interact with the composers.
Low Shao Suan, Low Shao Ying and Zhang Kangyi were casually chatting over dinner one evening at the National University of Singapore. They started talking about the numerous music festivals recently held (flute, saxophone, trombone, piano, violin etc.). Being composers themselves, they immediately noted the need for a Singapore event which showcases the works of living composers in the region.
